Camping With Your Kids
Camping is a leisure where families could enjoy one another company in a cheap but fun way. Whether it is a group of acquaintances, co-workers, and families, camping is an activity where they can value nature while learning about solidarity, basic survival, and most importantly, bonding with one another. getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city is a strong factor to motivate grown-ups who wish to forget about the stresses of work or kids wanting to have some recreational fun and away from school studies.
Prior to embarking on a camping trip with your kids, choosing the right camping equipments and choosing the suitable camp location are simple but valuable factors. Campgrounds differ in many ways. There are encampments where people can be by themselves and some are meant for people to camp with others. Some are safe while some can present some hazards. Apart from this, you should also take into account your kids preferences when it comes to outdoor activities.
An important factor in family camping is the tent/s that will be used. A family with two or more kids would either require two medium sized tents or a large one that will store some of their camping equipments and also give them some spaciousness.
Family camping tents could house a maximum of six to eight members but getting cramped together in one tent is not always thought as something convenient. Tents which have dividing walls are more desirable as they allow each member to have privacy. Parents would have a feeling of security for their kids by being together in one tent while enjoying their privacy and these kinds of tents often have zippers for each divider.
Aside from tents, other camping equipments are essential to add to a memorable camping experience. Listing essential camping nooks and crannies is the best way not to forget. For the list and camping equipments to be more organized, grouping them in categories like gears, cash, foods, medical, utensils, entertainment, etc. will reduce the chance of forgetting each one. Food, cash, gears and medicines are the most important of all.
Food and cash are pretty straigforward but gears and first-aid kits should be carefully thought of. Gears include tents, sleeping bags, hiking shoes, etc. Medicines include iodine, flu medicines, ointments, alcohol, and bandages, gauzes and cotton.
Kids foods should also be given some thought as these will be essential to their nutrition in the outdoors. Common foods kids eat at home may not be adequate in camp. One example is cereals where they usually need milk to be more tastier and nutritious. If you plan to stay several days in a campground devoid of electricity, it would not be a good idea to bring foods that are bound to spoil without refrigeration. Milk and other dairy products fall under these and unless your kids do not mind eating cereals out of the box, it is best to leave cereals and dairies at home. Suitable outdoor camping foods include canned goods, marshmallows, burgers and hotdogs.
Rain during camping is not exactly considered a fun camping experience. A gloomy and wet weather in a camping trip will probably be a downer for kids expecting to go trekking and do all sorts of activities outdoors. Bringing along some backups will help them pass the time until the rain stops. These backups come in the form of personal entertainment such as books, toys, audio players, board games and video games.
